       GHMT Forum

The 2007 GHMT Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Engineer (Hong Kong) Forum, held on 29 - 30 November 2007 in Hong Kong Science Park was jointly organized by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, Guangzhou Association of Engineers (HKIE), Guanzhou Engineers Association and The Macau Institution of Engineers.

This event was a great success by being able to host over 200 participants from various sectors of professionals, top government officials, key business representatives and guests.  Of which more than 60 representatives made a special trip from Guangzhou, Macau and Taiwan to come to Hong Kong to attend the Forum.

It was a great honour to have Mr Frederick Ma Si-hang, JP, Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development, the Government of the Hong Kong SAR and key executives of major associations to be our guests in the Opening Ceremony, including Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 12th Guangzhou City People's Congress, Ms Su Jin-zhong, Honorary President of the Guangzhou Association of Engineers, Ir Dr Lo Wai-kwok, President of the HKIE and Ms Li Qiu-hua, President of the Guangzhou Association of Engineers.

It was an opportunity to meet those in the forefront of developments in Information Communication Technology (ICT), to hear experts share their vision of our future and to network with leaders in ICT from different countries and regions.  "Information Technology and Digital City" was the main theme addressing the challenges and opportunities we faced in a rapidly changing world.
