Dr William Ho
Medical Superintendent, St Paul's Hospital


Dr. William Ho began his career as a surgeon, and changed to healthcare management following establishment of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. In 1995, he was appointed Hospital Chief Executive of Kwong Wah Hospital. From 1999 to 2005, he served as the Chief Executive of the Hospital Authority, managing 40 public hospitals and 50,000 staff. He led the organization through the SARS epidemic in 2003. In 2006, he joined the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals as Chief Executive to take charge of the charity’s medical, education and community services. Thereafter, he taught as Honorary Professor of Public Health, and helped to start a new Masters program in health services management in The Chinese University of Hong Kong.  He was also Senior Consultant of the City University of Hong Kong.  In 2012, Dr. Ho was appointed the Medical Superintendent of St. Paul’s Hospital.  He is currently the Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong Private Hospitals Association.
