Association of Hong Kong Nursing Staff (AHKNS)

Association of Hong Kong Nursing Staff (AHKNS), previously named as Association of Government Nursing Staff, was founded in 1977 by nursing staff on voluntary basis as a non-profit making nursing organization.

The Association is registered under the Trade Unions Ordinance with the objectives to enhance professional development of nursing staff, promote community participation, improve the quality of health care services in Hong Kong and advocate clients' rights.

With the support of nursing colleagues, AHKNS is currently the premier nursing organization in Hong Kong with around 23,000 members.

As a considerate union, we are also active in participating social activities through volunteer groups to help the people in need.

Founded in 1989, GS1 Hong Kong is a not-for-profit industry support organization.  It is committed to enhancing Hong Kong enterprises' competitiveness through the provision of global supply chain standards, best practices and enabling technologies.  As GS1's local chapter, GS1 Hong Kong is the only organization that is authorized to issue and administer GS1 identification numbers in Hong Kong.  Standards and solutions offered include bar coding services, B2B e-commerce services, Global Data Synchronization (GDS) and Electronic Product Code TM / Radio Frequency Identification (EPC/RFID). 

The organization also hosts a wide range of training courses to facilitate knowledge transfer for SCM principles, e-business strategies, global standards and the implementation of enabling technologies.

The Hong Kong Association of Gerontology (HKAG) was founded in 1986 by a group of professionals including: geriatricians, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologists, and academics, etc.

The aims of the Association are to promote the discipline of gerontology and to improve the quality of age care services in Hong Kong. The President is the official head of the standing Council, which is elected annually. The new structure of the Association has been implemented since February 2012 to take into account of the new functions and responsibilities undertaken by the Association.

The mission of HKAG is to promote the advancement of health care, social services and long-term care for older people in Hong Kong; and the furtherance of studies and education in gerontology.
